I've never been a huge fan of hostas.
They're not...pretty...plants. No flowers. No bright colours. When I was younger I thought they were kind of pointless.
Who wants plants that don't flower, after all?
It was only about a year or so ago that I realized that bright colours don't make a plant beautiful. Because, if you look really closely at hosta leaves, you'll see something interesting. Yes, they're green, just like most other plant leaves. But they're FOUR shades of green. And these four shades are layered in a way that makes every leaf look like it's been handpainted with extreme care.
And they're not the only plants that appear this way, either. We have a euonymus bush in our backyard that looks the same.
If God puts so much work into each individual leaf of each individual bush, why can't we trust that He'll do the same for us?
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all of his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow thrown into the fire, will he not more clothe you?"

Beautiful! And be patient...Hostas do flower! We'll look forward to the photos!;-) Goes to show that sometimes it's easy for us to judge something (or someone) too quickly and miss the beauty that is already there or yet to be discovered. It's a good reminder that it's important to slow down, take the time to get to really know about a thing/person before dismissing it altogether. Glad you stopped to get a closer look! His fingerprints are all over the place!
