[She] had always felt different, as if she were somehow more alive than other people, and the world, fate, destiny, whatever it was, had big plans for her.
-The Secret Keeper,
I am a daydreamer, a worrier, an optimist.
I am a writer, a painter of words, a child with an imagination the size of the midnight sky.
I am forgetful, enthusiastic, human.
I am a work in progress. I am not perfect yet, but I am trying (and failing pretty spectacularly, but trying nontheless) to live my life as a Christian, to follow Jesus and be more like Him. I feel so wonderfully incapable most of the time, but I am learning to hold my head up and accept my imperfections, because the only one whose standard I am continually failing is my own.
I am a writer. When I was younger, I wrote primarily novels - now that I have less time on my hands, I tend to write more journal entries and blog posts, a bit of poetry here and there, and sometimes a short story.
I am a lifeguard. I work an indoor pool in the winter and an outdoor one in the summer, which means I constantly smell like chlorine, have weird tan lines, and use acronyms and codes that no normal people understand. It also means I have to restrain myself from leaning out the car window to yell at children on the street to "STOP RUNNING!!" before I remember that technically, I'm off-duty.
I am a Canadian. I love maple syrup and bacon, apologize too much, and say "eh," somewhat frequently. However, I have never lived in an igloo, seen a moose, or owned a dogsled team. (sadness!)
I am a blogger and a people person - if you made it all the way through this page and decided to stay, please comment and let me know! I would LOVE to get to know you better!
