things that make me happy // tag edition

So, last week absolute chaos erupted in my bloglovin feed!! Tags started flying everywhere, I was tagged three times, and Hannah Mary returned to the blogging world! My heart is full. Anyway, this post is kind of  a mashup of both of the tags, and general happiness because really, this week has been kind of fantastic.

Without further ado...

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and give a link to their blog
  2. Answer the original 6 text-themed questions (plus a few Liebster questions mixed in, because I'm super random and creative like that) (lol not)
  3. Add a typography/word related question of your own for those you tagged to answer
  4. Tag 6+ bloggers and let them know (via their blogs, social media, whatev)
  5. Include these rules in your post
  6. (because I mashed up two tags, you'll have to bop over to one of the lovely ladies' blogs below to get a complete set of questions for each individual tag. But you should probably be visiting their blog anyway! Go do it!)
So! Many thanks to Abbiee and Olivia, for tagging me to complete the words tag, and Susanna, for tagging me to complete the Liebster blog award!! Here we go.

What is your favourite letter of the alphabet?
I think it's safe to say that I have never considered this question before. I'm going to say L. I really like the letter L. It sounds so lyrical and feminine, and both the upper and lowercase cursive forms of the letter are GORGEOUS.

Favourite word that starts with the same letter as your name?
My options are so limited. I do like the word octopus. Oblivious is nice, too. (it has an L in it, in case you didn't notice.)

If you found a wardrobe to Narnia, would you go through?
IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION YES I WOULD A THOUSAND TIMES

What are three words that you love? Three you hate?
Love: Essence, ethereal, specificity. Hate: Chunky, Fingernails, Greasy.

What is the sneakiest/cheekiest thing you did as a child?
Once, I hid in a doghouse because I was playing with my friend and I didn't want to go home. I think the dog was in the doghouse at the time, too, but my friend and I squeezed inside anyway. It smelled awful! As a tall child, I was very cramped, and at the end of it all I still had to go home, so I'm not sure I gained very much from the endeavor.

What are your three favourite punctuation marks?
the semicolon.
the semicolon.
the semicolon again.

What is your go-to coffee shop drink?
Depends on my mood. I like to experiment (because there are SO MANY TASTES AND I MUST TASTE THEM ALL). A few of my favourites are cafe mocha, peppermint tea, smoked butterscotch latte, and french vanilla cappuccino.

What is your favourite part of having a blog?
I love the blogging community. I love connecting with other writers who are just doing life together, commenting on each other's blogs and following along with the ups and downs of life in 2016! I love the feeling of posting a comment on someone else's blog, and I love seeing when a new comment pops up on one of my posts.

Basically, I love y'all to bits. And because these two tags have been flying around this week, I no longer know who has or hasn't done them... so I'm going to attempt to tag people, and we'll all just live with the consequences. If I don't tag you and you want to do the tag anyway, please do!! Just make sure you leave me a link in the comments so I can come and read your post.

  1. Yes to the blogging community. I wonder if I would still be blogging if it wasn't for them. Oh! The letter L is great!

  2. Ohhh, the glory days of childhood: when you would hide so you wouldn't have to go home. Or hide your friend. XD I so remember doing that. That story is priceless.

AND, HUZZAH, I AM NOT ALONE; IN MY LOVE; FOR; SEMICOLONS. Hahaha. I remember one of my first editors telling me that a I needed to break up with semicolons. Because they were taking over my manuscript. And the struggle is SO real when you're sitting there editing and you're like "...maybe a comma... or a period?" and ten minutes later you're like "NOPE, I CAN'T-- IT HAS TO BE A SEMICOLON. THE SEMICOLON WILL REMAIN. I WILL FIGHT FOR THIS SEMICOLON."

and the pressure is SO ON NOW because you, Olivia Knight and Abbie ALL TAGGED ME and I still haven't done this tag. XD Thank you so much! I loved reading your answers.

    1. LOL IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY THAT YOU HID YOUR FRIENDS, TOO. And girl, I feel you with the semicolons!! I don't have an editor who tells me to take them out, but I know that the second one does look at my book it'll be the first thing out of their mouth. But... BUTBUTBUT. I need them!

Hahaha I can't wait to see your tag answers!!

  5. I love your doghouse story. ;-) What you said about the blogging community -- yes! That's basically what I love about having a blog too. I've made so many friends I neeeeeeever would have otherwise, and to think of my life now without them....well, it just doesn't bear thinking about. :-P I also like having the outlet to share all the crazy things my imagination produces and knowing there's someone out there who's actually interested. There are so many things I love about blogging. Basically blogging is zee best. :-)

    Thanks for tagging me!

  9. You hid in a doghouse?! BAHAHAAH. That is hilarious. XD And omg the Narnian question is befuddling though...WHO HONESTLY WOULDN'T GO TO NARNIA?? I DON'T THINK SUCH A PERSON COULD EXIST. I want to go to Narnia and live in Mr Tumnus cave basically and eat cake and sardines but probably not together because ew. FOR NARNIAAAAAAA. Ahem.
Also specificity is such a fun word to say outloud. My favourite words are "copy" and "pockets" just because they sound awesome to say. xD I'm so very random and no regrets. :')

  10. Oh my goodness, I despise the word "chunky." Especially in relation to food. Just don't do it. Ew. Also, now I'm trying to figure out my favorite letter of the alphabet...
