things that make me happy // 501-512

501. that it's January! It's 2016! I have no idea why, but I am just so excited about this!
502. writing poetry. and then thinking, huh! I like this poetry! That feeling.
503. spending quiet time with my family over Christmas break
504. going away to visit extended family and playing games all together after dinner, crammed into the living room and just laughing...
505. updating my resume so I can apply for a new summer position at work (I realized today that I actually enjoy this. I am so weird.)
506. making smoothies and then drinking them and feeling proud of myself for creating something delicious.
507. good books (here, here, and here) I die.
508. tourtiere (traditional meat pie dish from Quebec, where my Poppa was born.)
509. playing around with old clothes and new clothes and finding new outfits
510. knitting. I learned how to knit a straight stitch last month and am working steadily away at an infinity scarf! it is purple and I knit while Hannah and I watch White Collar (latest obsession while we wait for Sherlock Christmas special and Downton Series 6) Normally I'd provide links but I am 100% too scared of seeing spoilers or accidentally linking to a spoiler, so no thank you very much!! google at your own risk....
511. Driving to work in the mornings instead of taking the bus or biking!!
512. Staying up late after everyone else has gone to bed. like right now as I write this post. Even Toby (my puppy who is not technically a puppy anymore) is asleep on the couch beside me.
this is a google images picture of tourtiere to which I can lay no claim. but it looks delicious, amirite??
what is putting a smile on your face so far this year?

xx
Olivia

P.S. goodnight. it is late and I am going to regret this in the morning.
P.P.S. but not too much regret because I love all of you lots n lots

  2. UGH UM SO YES I TOO HAVE BEEN STAYING UP WAYYY TOO LATE. And then I definitely regret it in the morning because I wake up at like 9:30. IT'S WRONG IT'S SO WRONG. but anyway. Um, that tourtiere looks delicious and making smoothies it definitely lots of fun -- especially when they turn out really yummy. ^.^ Girl, knitting an infinity scarf? That sounds HARD. You should be proud of yourself and snap a pic to show us when it's finished! I tried knitting one time, but it was very frustrating to me. xD So those who can knit really impress me, a lot.

EEEEEEEE DOWNTON. ♥ My heart is so happy that Downton is back. Although I'm just the opposite -- I go to all those detailed spoiler-filled recaps written by the privileged UK viewers and spoil literally EVERY SINGLE SECOND of the show for myself. But I still love it just the same! And it actually gives me more to look forward to if I already know what happens?? idk it's weird. xD but don't worry! my lips are sealed. ;)

Hmmm, what's been making me happy? Lots of things. I've been doing a 30 day yoga for beginners challenge (even though I'm more of an intermediate yogi) because it's just really cleansing to go back to the basics and explore with a beginner's mind. Also chocolate has been making me especially happy lately. And the fact that I'm wrapping up a writing project (one chapter to go! eeep) which will probably turn out to be 86,000 words. (yikes! I'm too long winded for my own good xD)

    Wonderful post, Olivia!
    love,

    1. YOU GET TO SLEEP IN UNTIL 9:30 WHAT EVEN IS YOUR LIFE I START WORK AT 8AM SO I HAVE TO BE UP BEFORE THE SUN WHICH IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE OBVS THE SUN KNOWS WHAT IS UP and is staying asleep for the good of mankind =.=

Knitting an infinity scarf is actually super easy! You just knit a long straight thing and then sew the ends together. :) I will definitely post pictures! Great idea! Did I mention that it's purple? So much purple love.

Also how do you look up spoilers?!?!? I have zero understanding of you in this particular aspect of our lives! Like how?! Also do you know your myers-briggs personality type? I'm an ENFJ, and suddenly I'm super curious about yours!

      Thanks for commenting!!

      *wilts* xDDD

  4. That picture of a tourtiere is putting a smile on my face. IT LOOKS SO DELICIOUS OMG. Also I do like that feeling of being up late when the world is very quiet. :') Although I'm an early riser so I don't do it much, hehe, but right now my house is very quiet and dark and my puppy (also not so much a puppy XD) is sleeping and IT FEELS VERY NICE AND MAKES ME HAPPY. ;D

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  6. Oh! Oh! Oh! The Sherlock Christmas special! AAAAAH. I watched it. But I won't give anything away. Promise.

And your dad's from Quebec? Or is your Poppa your grandpa? Does he speak French? *gasp* Do YOU speak French? (I want to speak French.)

    1. DANIELLE WAS IT GOOD???? I KEEP HEARING THAT IT WAS GOOD BUT ALSO CREEPY AND I'M SCARED OF CREEPY THINGS SO I'M SCARED. IN GENERAL. Yikes.

My Poppa is my grandpa! And he is from Quebec... but because he had TB when he was really little, he spent so much time in a hospital growing up that he actually lost his French language and could only speak English when he got back home. :( and thus, aside from the mandatory French classes in school, I don't speak French either.

  7. #509 has been my life these past few weeks. :) It's amazing what you can find in your closet! #512 is also me. Perhaps it's a blogger/writer thing? Idk. I feel like I'm always the last one asleep in my house. ^_^
