silver trees

We were driving when we saw them, tossed back and forth by the wind outside the car.

So we pulled the car over and I got out and picked my way across the gravel to stand right next to them, the beautiful silver trees. And the cool wind blew through my sweater as my camera clicked away, but I didn't mind the chill.

I just love these trees - in the distant sunshine the leaves look like coins, catching the light and flashing it back and forth. Up close they look frosted - as though someone's taken a can of white spray paint and gone to work on the bushes and trees by the side of the road.

So much beauty.

In other news, I had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend with my family. ♥ Cousins, too much food, Captain America, youth group, hilarious late-night talks, lemon meringue pie, gorgeous fall colours and wide-open space...need I say more?

Look for a book review on this novel sometime during the coming week.

    1. They're beautiful, aren't they? I see them often, along the roadside.
