things that make me happy // 631-645

631. fall leaves and thick, heavy clouds
632. my siblings playing Christmas music on the piano
633. porch lights turned on at dinnertime
634. the mountains in Iceland
635. writing essays about fictional princesses (most fun part of being an English major)
636. when my youth pastor boss brings me a chai tea latte for no apparent reason
637. the way my dog looks at me when I get the peanut butter out of the fridge
638. library booksales (they sold their books for $2!!! each!!!!)
639. waffles+whipped cream
640. the way yoga+deep breaths unties all the knots in my chest
641. playing board games with friends until 1am
642. going for walks after dark and talking about the stuff that matters
643. talking on the phone to faraway friends
644. when the sunlight comes through my window at work
645. dog-sitting a cuddly puppy

Did you know that Autumn is my favourite season? Anne of Green Gables once said that she was so glad that she lived in a world where there were Octobers ... and even though the month has passed, I wholeheartedly agree. What makes you happy this month? Which season is your favourite?

xx,
Olivia

    1. October is my top favourite month (closely followed by December because of CHRISTMASSS). I love fall leaves and snow the best out of all lovely weather trends <3

  4. I love the things that make you happy! It makes me wish I had a true Autumn where I live. Where I live, it's mostly summer and winter. In December, that's the closest we get to our landscape looking autumn outside.
I love this month, though, because Thanksgiving is in it. I love Thanksgiving so much. I have so many happy memories on that day.

    1. Ekaterina, I'm sad you don't get a full FALL experience!! Have you ever visited somewhere where all the leaves were red and the air was brisk and chilly? Do you ever get snow? (my other favourite season....)

  6. You keep reminding me with these lists of my own gratitude list collecting dust.

I have to say Spring is my favorite season, but Autumn is second!

    1. The goose girl, from Emma Donoghue's short story "The Tale of the Handkerchief"! It's a great one!

    2. Oh, I know the story but I haven't read Emma Donoghue's version! By the way, have you read Shannon Hale's novel "Goose Girl"? It's deliciously good.

  8. I was blog browsing, and I run into your "happy lists". I loooooove reading what other people are thankful for, both the writing and reading of such lists make me happy :). I started "Thankful Thursdays" back when I was 14... I thought it was an original idea (and really, it was, because I didn't read many blogs back then ;)...)... but it proved "there is nothing new under the sun", haha, because I find them everywhere, which is fun :).
And I love the quote by "Anne" that you mentioned. I actually made that quote into a wall decor canvas for my Etsy shop, because it's the perfect October quote <3!
