Time

... it flies!!

It's been a long long time since I posted in this space, but I haven't been as absent as I look, I promise! Truth be told, I think about the cwtch often ... and I lurk bloglovin daily, although I've never been able to find the time to comment (I like to think that it just keeps flapping its wings, ever out of reach, but in reality, I haven't put much effort into catching it and holding on).

I've made lists upon lists of my priorities and what's important to me and how I can do it all and still have time to sit on the couch with a book at the end of the day, and to be honest, I'm nowhere close to having it all figured out! Right now I'm working, and school is about to start up again, and I'm trying to maintain relationships with the people who are important to me, and write new books, and edit old ones, and prep book proposals so I can start dipping my toes into the publishing world (WHAT), and walk my dog a couple times a week, and blogging just keeps getting slipped to the bottom of the pile.

I think the easy thing to do would just be to say "BYE FOR NOW" and let go of the pressure to keep posting, this little niggling feeling that I'm falling behind (or, have fallen behind, since my last post was six months ago...) but every time I think about sitting down to write that post, it feels wrong. I love this space - and I love the people who visit - and I don't want to lose that.

So, what now? I'm not sure yet ... but I want to try to figure it out.

with all the love,
Olivia

  2. Olivia!! I've missed you! <3

I totally get it, though. It's hard to find the balance, isn't it? We're always going to be here though, when you do get to catch a moment to pop by:)

  3. Parting ways with your blog is hard... I have never done in. Some might say sometimes you need a break but I can't break from blogging it's a part of who I am. I'm glad to see you have came back to say hello!

BTW. I love that artwork. Reminds me of the eclipse that will happen!

    1. It is hard, V! I don't necessarily think I needed a break ... it was something that just kind of happened. I'm hoping I can juggle it all a bit better in the future though, so I don't have to take any more!

An eclipse? I think I've heard about it ... when?

  4. It's so nice to hear from you again, Olivia! I miss your posts. But I totally understand how sometimes blogging slips away and you somehow take a long, unexpected break. Enjoy life and good luck with your publishing ventures. :) I'll be here when you decide to come back!

  5. GIRL: I FEEL YOU SO SO SO MUCH. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. "I've made lists upon lists of my priorities and what's important to me and how I can do it all and still have time to sit on the couch with a book at the end of the day..." <<<< legit I can relate so hardcore. I did this at the beginning of the year -- made a list (only three things allowed! lol) of the things that are most important to me....and tbh blogging didn't even make the list. (It was writing, music, and health.) But blogging was a close forth! I just had to rethink the way I do things because blogging was taking up wayyy too much of my time and even though I spend less time on my blog now, I find that I'm happier because I get to spend more time doing the things that actually mean the most to me. :)

BUT ANYWAY ENOUGH ABOUT ME! *hugs* WELCOME BACK. For however long you are here, WE LOVE YOU!! <3 I can totally relate to figuring out your priorities and what you need at this season of your life. :) YOU'RE NOT ALONE.

    rock on,
    abbiee

    1. THANK ABBIEE <3 <3 It's such a relief to hear that you all can relate ... the pressure gets so much lighter! And it's nice to know I'm not the only one making lists (or the only one who struggles with priorities)! Thanks so much for this comment ... it's good to be back! :)

^ Me exactly. It's tough trying to find the time and the creative juices, there are just so many other facets of life that are demanding attention, and yet, that is a good thing, too. I've missed your posts but know that it's always ok to take breaks. :)

  7. I was so excited to spot your new post! Made me all excited : D. But yeah, I understand that it's hard to keep up with blogging when life is still happening. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just press pause now and then to pursue more creative endeavors?
Your top photo is lovely by the way. I <3 city lights and twilight skies. And nicely done on your art project! Moon phase watercolors = happiness.

  8. I wish you the best of luck as you continue searching for balance in your life. I'm not there yet, either (but, really, does anyone have it all together?), and geez is it hard! Sometimes those unexpected blogging breaks are just what we need to reorient ourselves in relation to our blogs.

    1. Thank you, Serena! I'm not sure if anyone has it all together ... I sure wish I did! I'm hoping 6 months was a long enough break to get me right back into it! (wish me luck!!)

  9. I think all bloggers understand your plight. It is awfully hard to fit blogging in on top of everything else. Every week I have to persuade myself that it's worth it.
