keeping it real

Well friends. Today is something new.

I don't have much to say.

(this doesn't happen very often. Be afraid.)

(just kidding, you should probably be thankful. Enjoy it while you can!)

So, because I have no pretty pictures or particularly inspiring words, I thought I'd do a quick little life summary (part "hey, I'm not dead!", part "I haven't posted in two weeks aiii!!") In a list, because those are super helpful. And in Roman numerals, because those are super cool.

i. March is being March-ish (aka, dingy and gray and full of mud and laments about school and how far away summer is.) I won't bore you with the details (except I kinda just did,) but I'm trying to take my own advice and it's NOT WORKING, please assist. What do you do to cheer yourself up/pretend that it's summer??

ii. I've started watching Merlin. In other words, I've completely submitted my emotional life to BBC, the end. I'm not even going to say anything about this show except I'm halfway through season 2 and it is SO GOOD. Also I'm having panic attacks/phobic reactions/general fear and anxiety over spoilers, so please just don't. I mean it, it's actually an issue. We can talk when I finish the series (I might need therapy.)

iii. Poetry is beautiful and wonderful and we're studying it in school (it's the only good thing about school right now, but it is such a good thing!) I've been writing some (which you will maybe see on the blog? Haven't decided yet) but I've also been reading lots...I'm really loving Jean Little and Michael Ondaatje, who are your favourites?

iv. I had an excellent March Break away with some friends - and we went to see Insurgent! I'm torn between wanting to review it and thinking that EVERYONE is going to be reviewing it in the coming weeks...plus, it's been a long time since I read the book. Thoughts? Would you be interested in reading my fragmented opinions of the second movie installment, or should I just steer clear altogether? Let me knowwwww.

v. Update on my friend's brother - thank you all so much for your prayers for him, it means the world to me. He is still in the hospital, but he is on the road to recovery and most of the updates I'm hearing are good. I don't want to say too much (partially because I really don't know a lot, myself, but also to respect their privacy,) but continued prayer would be so appreciated. He is still in serious condition, but it appears that his progress has been positive so far. (thank you Jesus!)

Um, yeah. March is not my favourite. How are all of you? Still surviving out there? (summer's coming, I promise!!)

xx
Olivia

  1. Olivia! First of all, I'm so glad to hear that your friend's brother is doing better.

Second, yay for Merlin! Isn't it great? I'm on season 3. It just keeps getting better and better.

Third, write an Insurgent review!! I just saw it too, and I'd love to hear your thoughts! As of this month I am now a fellow Divergent fan...I'm on the last book now. We need to talk about it. For realz.

Fourth, sorry about the March blues. Not fun.

    1. Hannah we must definitely have Merlin chats at some point. When I get to season three we can compare episodes and have fun, spoiler free dialogue! Yay! #excited

I'm glad you think the Insurgent review is a good idea...maybe I'll go through the book again this week and type something up for Monday. Let's add that to our merlin chat! for realz. When you finish Alliegent, email me. >:)

  2. Good to hear that he is doing better. I hope he'll make a full recovery and everything will be fine.

March has actually been all right for me. I've been feeling better and happier, and YES, reading poetry is soooo good! I love it! I like certian poems by e. e. cummings, Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allen Poe, aaand, yeah, more, but I can't remember their names right now.

Please write an Insurgent review! I probably won't see it, but I'd love to hear your opinion.
