a musing

they say "love is blind," but I don't think that's right. I think true love gives you eyes to see the things that matter most.

People say love makes you unable to see the faults in people, to miss the inconsistencies that are right in front of your face. But I wonder, isn't it the other way around? When you love someone, you look at them differently. The physical, less important features fade from your mind, and all the really important things become crystal clear...

Just something I was thinking about after soccer practice last night.

currently...
...watching Downton Abbey season 3!
...singing the soundtrack from les Mis. Still.
...anticipating my NLS exam next Sunday
...wanting lemon squares

  1. I think one thing love can blind is everyone else around you, lol, but it makes sense that it does help you see, not blank out, the the things within the one you love. Lovely water droplet photos, by the way.

    1. Haha, you might be right. ;) I was driving home from soccer practice with the window down, just thinking...and it sort of popped into my head. :P I actually forgot to write it down until later...Mom walked into the kitchen and I had one hand on our popcorn maker (which slides across the counter as it pops) and the other frantically scribbling my idea down...she grinned and asked me if I'd been struck with inspiration.

    2. How odd the places can be where humans find inspiration :-D

  2. These photographs are so lovely. And those words - so true.
